Sometimes you're so eager to get your new episode live, so you accidentally upload the wrong audio file or artwork. You fix the issue, but somehow Spotify, Google or Apple haven't uploaded the right file yet.

"I uploaded a new episode yesterday, but I didn't use the right audio file the 1st time. I uploaded the right file immediately after I discovered my mistake, but now Spotify still hasn't updated my file. What happened?"
Before your audio file is updated, directories such as
Spotify,
Apple or
Google need to retrieve your feed first. They only do that when they see a significant change to your feed compared to the previous one.
Here are a number of solutions to make sure these directories update your feed faster.
1. Add a new audio file with a new file name
Spotify will only update your episode if something has changes. Make sure the name of your new file is different from the previous one. It takes Spotify up to 48 hours to update your episode with the correct file.
2. Delete your episode
Another solution is to delete the old episode. This will take Spotify up to 5 minutes. Next, create a new episode and upload the correct audio file. It may take up to 24 hours, but you will have the right audio for your episode. Always make sure your old episode is really deleted.
3. Rename your episode
This is particularly effective if you've uploaded the wrong artwork. Upload the correct artwork, rename your episode and you're good to go. Google, Apple and Spotify recognize the change immediately and update your feed with the changes you've made.
These are just quick fixes and work well, but obviously there's no guarantee. Patience really is a virtue ;) After 48 hours your changes should be live.
